To the dear love of comrades

Dat was de zin die Loek mij schreef ruim 33 jaar geleden en die liefde, “the dear love of comrades” veranderde mijn bestaan van zwart/wit in kleur.

RUIMTE om mij te mogen zijn en elk aspect van mij werd plots interessant!
De WAARDE van alles.
Opeens was alles wat ik deed, dacht, zei, vond van waarde.

Dat is wat Loek met je doet.

Want dit waren geen verliefdheidsgevoelens, van jezelf herontdekken door iets nieuws en met liefde aanschouwd te worden, maar dit zou nooit meer overgaan. Dit gevoel is in geen 34 jaar overgegaan.

Tegen Loek ongecensureerd kunnen spreken!
Want hij luistert en daar kan je altijd op rekenen.
Behalve wanneer je daar niet op kon rekenen, maar voor mij was ook dat altijd duidelijk.

Niemand kan zeggen wat Loek tegen je zegt!

In mijn eerste brief terug aan hem, schreef ik :
“en toch wil ik schrijven”.
En daarmee was de kameraadschap voor eeuwig begonnen en zal ook voor eeuwig blijven!

“Groot mens” noemden wij elkaar en “geestrijk” en “geestig”. Wij poezenmensen, wij Annie Schmidt mensen. Daarmee verlichtten we elkaar.
We vonden de balans om elkaar wederzijds te redden van de ondergang. Gelukt!!

Maar wie redt mij nu nog?

Loek heeft deze maand beloofd om tot het einde van mijn dagen om mij heen te blijven zweven, ook al voegde hij er meteen aan toe toch ook wel af en toe even naar anderen te zullen zweven. Ha, de realiteit van die uitspraak daagde hem!
Maar natuurlijk!! Loek is van iedereen!
Althans van iedereen die hem dierbaar is. Ik geloof dat ik nog beter doorhad dan hijzelf hoe kostbaar zijn vriendschappen  zijn, van vroeger, van nu en ook altijd bleven. Zoals ook werk en vriendschap in hem onlosmakelijk verbonden waren: wie Loek dierbaar was, was Loek dierbaar en is het nog altijd.

  2. Meer dan 40 jaar geleden zag ik Loek voor het eerst tijdens een vegadering van de Theaterschool waar ik leerling was en hij studieleider, zijn rode haren en baard, zijn PLO sjaal maar met name zijn dwarsheid en bevlogenheid maakten diepe indruk op mij.
    Een aantal jaren later ontmoette ik Loek opnieuw, nu als innige en onlosmakelijke kameraad van Marja, mijn zusje.
    Zonder woorden werd hij als vanzelfsprekend een lid van de familie en mocht ik hem ‘broertje’ noemen. Hij was het die onze moeder vergezelde op haar laatste tocht.
    Trouw, aanwezig, zo bijzonder.
